The Ghanaian music industry has since its budding days seen minor misunderstanding between artists.

Unlike other professional fields, these misunderstandings are often referred to as ‘beef’ in the musical circus and the biggest and perhaps the most memorable one in Ghana if I can easily recollect is that of Obrafour and former hiplife rap champion now turned pastor Lord Kenya.

Although neither of the two nor their following physically assaulted each other unlike witnessed elsewhere in the West, the battle on words was just amazing as fans rushed for new records just when they were released, something rap legend Obrafour explains was a good move for their pockets.

In a publication on yfmghana, Obrafour discloses the ‘beef’ was never planned and there was no animosity between them unlike people are made to believe.

According to him, they needed sales and the ‘beef’ really helped at the time.

“There was no animosity or whatsoever between us and it wasn’t planned. We needed the sales and it really helped. Because any time Lord Kenya dropped his album, people rushed to buy it just to hear if he had thrown shots at me and any time I dropped my album people rushed to get the album just find out if I had thrown shots at him.”

Since then, the very question many have asked is “Do beefs really help? Well, I would love to have your comment at the bottom of this page.

Aside these artists, Ex Doe and Chicago also had a thing going on until their beef separated them.

Yvonne and John

The enviable friendship between actress Yvonne Nelson and actor John Dumelo seems to be melting down slowly.

After Yvonne revealed that John has been avoiding her for some time now, things are getting uglier between them.

These two were so close to the extent that they were rumored to being in a relationship on several occasions. It however looks like the center isn’t holding anymore for the two as Yvonne Nelson has deleted pictures of herself and John from her Instagram page.

The whole problem stated when the actress who was responding to a fan’s query as to why she didn’t invite John to support her #DumsorMustStop campaign. Yvonne stated that John loves to “kiss ass”. This statement obviously didn’t go down well with John who has been quiet all this while until today.

In an interview with Pulse.com.gh after the #Dumsormuststop vigil, the actress stated that John doesn’t pick her calls anymore and she has no idea why, describing John's attitude as childish. This has pushed John who doesn’t sound too happy to respond to Yvonne’s comments.

In a series of tweets on Friday morning, John explained why he has intentionally refused to pick Yvonne’s calls and he also expressed how he truly feels about what Yvonne has said about him.

“It’s just amazing how some people want to look good in the public eye and make others look like they are the the bad ones….smh

I would never go on social media and insult any colleague of mine let alone insult a good friend all in the name of looking good in public.

Then behind the scenes U keep calling me on my phone…for what if I may ask? To insult me the more? Or to ridicule me infront of everyone?

U called me a kiss ass…that’s cool. Maybe it’s better to kiss ass than to keep friends who will stab me in the back.

I’ve kept mute for weeks now but Charle E dey bore. When your paddy paaaa wey U den am dey do things together insult U for public. God dey.

I hear our pictures have been deleted from isgrm. Why do U just go ahead and block me just like U block fans for speaking their mind.”
John poured his heart out on twitter.

Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale says rapper, Sarkodie begged him to support his music career some years ago before the latter shot to fame.

According to Shatta Wale who was addressing why he is so close to Sarkodie, the two have been together since his days as Bandana.

However, because his career was not rosy, he could not assist the rapper.

“Sarkodie begged me for support way back when I was Bandana. But I told him I was also suffering. We have been together for so long but some people think we just teamed up after both of us made it”, he said on Starr FM’s Starr Chat.

The two, together with Stonebwoy will face Nigeria’s Mavins Crew at this year’s Tigo Ghana Meets Naija which comes off on May 23 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Ghanaian comedian, David Oscar came under attack after he posted on his
Facebook
page that he is not going to join the #DumsorMustStop vigil slated for May 16 in Accra. Comments by many Ghanaians disagreed with his Facebook post with some insulting him. Actress Yvonne Nelson who started the #DumsorMustStop campaign on twitter questioned the nationality of the comedian due to his decision not to join the vigil. She tweeted, “What a shame! Is David Oscar Ghanaian? Does he live in Gh?

David Oscar in an interview with Zionfelix.com on Friday evening has expressed his disappointment in some Ghanaians and actress Yvonne Nelson who have raised their mouths against him due to his comment that “dumsor must stop, but your constant whining and whimpering would not act as a magic wand. Period!”.
The comedian in the interview said that he did not insult Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie in his post on Facebook so he finds it worrying to hear people accuse him of raining insults on the BET award-winner and the actress. Oscar continued that the ‘dumsor’ is not massive in other parts of the country as people think. He explained that his journey to different parts of the country has revealed that the low shedding exercise does not affect certain people in different parts of the country but those in the big cities.
According to him, he has the right to express his opinion as a citizen of Ghana so why should people attack his personality for exercising his rights.

Sarkodie Is Behaving Like A ‘Dog In Bolga Market’ – NDC Man

sfaceentertainment.blogspot.com | Posted on

sarkodie nana addoSarkodie Is Behaving Like A ‘Dog In Bolga Market’ – NDC ManEx-convict, Stephen Atubiga has described rapper Sarkodie as a
dog
wandering in Bolgatanga market who does not know what he is about.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) sympathizer speaking on Adom FM’s Evening NewsThursday expressed disappointment in the rapper and several other celebrities who have taken it upon themselves to hold a vigil to put pressure on government to end the power crisis.
According to him, the celebrities are doing the bidding of New Patriotic Party (NPP) and believes the party’s flag bearer, Nana AKufo-Addo is the architect of their actions.
“If Sarkodie whose music I like and adore want to be a politician today, then he should come clean, if he wants to support his uncle Akufo-Addo to be president, he should come clean, no one would prevent him…but if he want to behave like a Binduri dog in a cow attire in Kumasi market, we won’t permit him at all…,” he said.
The rapper and his colleagues have planned the event to protest their dislike for the persistent power fluctuations that has led to the collapse of many companies.
Actresses, Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson and several members in the art and
entertainment
industry since the launch of #DumsorMustStop campaign to ensure an end to the energy crisis have suffered several abuses.
While Alhaji Alidu Haruna called them prostitutes and irresponsible, Stephen Atubiga believed they were doing the bidding of opposition chairman, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Atubiga who shot to fame after making disparaging comments during the 2012 election petition when he was sentenced to prison for wrong comments, argued that the celebrities are just doing that to frustrate the Mahama administration.
As a punishment for the celebrities including Sarkodie, he said he would be organizing some supporters of the NDC to burn down CDs of the celebrities.
“If a dog does not respect, it is not in the Bolga market that it would go and full…we the NDC sympathisers would burn all their CD’s and movies if they do so…,” he threatened.
He continued that the whole idea of a vigil for Dumsor is wrong questioning “who is dead for them to go and put on candle for a vigil…I ask again?”

To me, it will be very difficult for this thing to happen in our country, some people tried when a sextape leaked but it did not work. After talking about the issue, we moved on to talk about why many young Ghanaians who venture into blogging decide to write about celebrities.
We also talked about how money is made through blogging because you cannot work without earn. For now, blogging pays and there are various ways bloggers get their cash. I was on the show with Abrantepa of Radio Univers.
