The rise of Ghana Dancehall music ‘madness’ in the ghettos

SN (Self Nation –
Addi Self), TCM (Terror Clique Movement – Bastero), PM (Platinum Minds –
Sheriff), Zaafi Empire (Rashid Metal) and dozens more.

These groups have collectively grown quickly in numbers, lifestyle and
actions, giving birth to a culture called Dancehall Movement and the
christening of Nima, Dancehall City.

The music is no more the centre that holds the movement but rather the
family and affiliation, with or without the direct involvement of the
Dancehall musicians who wave their flags on musical platforms.

Rivalry and overzealousness characterize the families who go to the
extent of physically attacking opposing groups to protect the integrity
of the local brands they believe in.

The easily identifiable Dancehall rivalry which had national attention
is that of Samini (High-Grade Family) and Shatta Wale (Shatta Movement)
spanning over two years. The latter was an idol for many Dancehall
lovers in the ghettos as a result of his pronounced affiliation to the
communities and short-lived relocation.

While the award-winning musical artistes were getting their monies worth
from media war, bloody intra and inter-community squabbles ensued in
their interest. They are now losing popularity to born and bred local
artistes who are struggling for national coverage and if lucky,
international.

One-time local artistes who are tasting glory are Stonebwoy from
Ashaiman, Iwan from Accra Newtown, Rudeboi from Maamobi and Rashid Metal
among a few.

For now, rising local stars like Addi Self, Bastero, Sheriff and many
others who are struggling to go beyond the big guys keep brightening
their corners in Nima, Maamobi, Accra Newtown etc.

Watch ambitious young Dancehall artiste Addi Self represent Maamobi;

'Am I supposed to wear wedding gown to the beach?'

Kumawood actress Benedicta Gafah has reacted to the lashes she is getting from critics for her recent bikini photos that went viral.

The actress who is not happy about the feedback took to Instagram to address the issue.

Her post read;

"Ok soo I was told about all the comments about my bikini pics, and I started laughing, I beg was I suppose to wear a wedding gown to swim..why are some Ghanaians hypocrites", she questioned.

I Have Surrendered My Life to Jesus Christ”- Sylverster Stallone

Famous American actor Sylvester Stallone recently made a very important decision in his life. And it’s not another blockbuster film. Stallone announced that he “has surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Stallone made this life-changing announcement before releasing his latest ROCKY movie. However, his “public announcement” wasn’t covered by the news media. If he had announced he was GAY, all the media, the TV shows and newspapers would have given it full coverage.
That’s why we decided to cover it here, because there was a great celebration that took place in Heaven. Let’s all share this and celebrate it! BLESSINGS TO YOU,

Tupac Shakur is Alive he Returned from Cuba 2015 Conspiracy Explained

Tupac Shakur who was supposedly killed at the age of 25 is now admitting he has been hiding this whole time.It was Shakur who in 1996 was reportedly attending a special event in Las Vegas, the Mike Tyson-Benson fight, and then afterwards was brutally murdered.
A day or so
later he is autopsied, then quickly cremated. There is no funeral. Nor is there any record of a tribute or memorial. Now we know exactly why it was because Tupac Shakur was never killed it is unclear why he has been hiding.
He finally returned from Cuba after a long journey of 19 years and spoke to medias about all the time he was hiding, what he was doing

there and much more..
This story is still under development but Tupac has already been spotted with Celebrities.
On Me Against the World, the 1995 album from Tupac Shakur, the prodigious rapper foretells his death. “I’m having visions of leaving here in a hearse/ God can ya feel me?/ Take me away from all the pressure/ and all the pain/ show me some happiness again,” he raps on “So Many Tears.” Eighteen months later, while riding in the passenger seat under the iridescent glow of the Las Vegas strip with Marion “Suge” Knight at the wheel, Tupac was gunned down and mortally wounded. Or was he?
Here’s how his death supposedly went down. Just past 11 p.m. on September 7, 1996, at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane (then just a few steps from the Maxim Hotel), Tupac and Knight were idle at a red light when a white Cadillac rolled up to the passenger side and opened fire. Tupac, whose career had been on a steep ascent since getting out of prison the year before, was hit four times; one bullet critically punctured his lung. Knight, for the most part, was unharmed.
A week later, on September 13, while on life-support in the critical care unit at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, the 25-year-old rap phenom died from internal bleeding.
The drive-by shooting was reported to be gang-related, spurred by a physical altercation involving Tupac, Knight, and Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, a Crip gang affiliate from Compton, the night of September 7. (A 2011 investigation by the FBI showed several threats were also made on the rapper’s life by the Jewish Defense League).
Dr. Ed Brown, the Clark County coroner investigator, determined Tupac’s death a homicide. ” I found no apparent life signs,” he detailed in his report, “and trauma was observed to the right hand, right hip and right chest under the right arm, apparently caused from gunshots.” Tupac was pronounced dead at 4:03 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 1996.
But if the old saying is true, legends never truly die—perhaps quite literally in Tupac’s case.
The Most Common Questions Surrounding Tupac’s Death
The picture above, said to be the last photo taken before the shooting, raises two interesting questions: If Tupac was shot on 9/7/96, why does the photo indicate it was taken on 9/8/96?
Why are there no keys in the car’s ignition?
14 shots were fired, four of which hit Tupac. Knight, who is a considerably large man (around 6’4, 260 pounds) was not hit once. He was said to have sustained minimal injures from bullet fragments, but no serious wounds were recorded. Did Knight mastermind the shooting? (Believe what you will, but nobody’s luck is that good.)
Since being shot at Quad Recording Studios on November 30, 1994, Pac wore a bullet-proof vest almost everywhere. It seems odd, on such a high profile night, that he’d forego protection.
The BMW from the photo does not match the BMW from the police investigation video.
The shooters were never found. As one former Outlawz member noted in a 2014 National Geographic documentary that explored Tupac’s still unsolved murder, “This is America. We found Bin Laden.” So why has it been so difficult to find the men who shot Tupac? What are the police not telling us?
The streets of Las Vegas are typically jam-packed—with an assortment of cars, people, and entertainers trying to earn a living. Tupac was shot two hours after the Mike Tyson/Bruce Seldon fight, and the streets, the strip especially, were likely congested with traffic that night. And yet, nobody spotted the white Cadillac?
The official coroner’s report lists Tupac as 72 inches tall (6 feet) and 215 pounds. But the rapper’s driver’s license identifies him as 5’10 and 168 pounds.
Afeni Shakur (Tupac’s mother) and medical staff are the only people who saw the rapper once he was admitted into the hospital. Years later, in a video interview, Afeni says, “In the end, he chose to leave quietly.” What did she mean by “leave quietly”? Was she implying Tupac had a hand in his removal from the spotlight?
Tupac was reportedly cremated, and the man who cremated him retired after doing so. He has not been seen since, which, at the very least, is a little suspicious.
Since Tupac’s death, seven albums have been released under his name, more than when he was alive. (All the tracks were said to be recorded before his death, but that seems questionable at best.)
So, Is Tupac Really Dead?

If we are to follow the reasoning provided by the above Yahoo message board user (we are!), then certain developments within the last few months add up perfectly.
Here are some facts:
In December 2014, President Obama restored “full diplomatic relations with Cuba,” easing “restrictions on remittances, travel and banking” between the US and Cuba.
Tupac’s aunt is Assata Shakur, the political activist and former Black Liberation Army member who escaped prison and fled to Cuba after she was convicted for the 1977 murder of a New Jersey State Trooper. She has been living in Cuba since 1984, where she was granted political asylum.
Kendrick Lamar’s new album To Pimp a Butterfly, released March 16 (1 + 6 = 7!) of this year, features a conversation between the two rappers on the final track, “Mortal Man.”
Powerade’s new “Rose From Concrete” campaign uses Tupac’s vocals.
You’re thinking, what does all of this have in common? Tupac’s continued existence on this earth.
Proof Tupac Is Alive (and Most Likely Living in Cuba)
Tupac was the consummate rap artist: overflowing with steely bravado, wildly intelligent, beloved by those who knew him best, and lyrically assertive and self-aware on tape. A platinum-selling political provocateur, he was a true rap iconoclast. His legend, even before the night of September 7, was already written into the history books. He was, as Vibe editor Alan Light said in November 1996, the only rapper who “had come to embody all contradictions and confusion that have grown up around hip-hop.”
Pac was a public enigma—a man you could never grasp completely, even as he stood right in front of you. “[H]is life was about juggling plums while bullets nipped at his ankles,” Danyel Smith wrote in the introduction to the 1997 book, Tupac Shakur. “It was about defiance, women, paranoia, ego, and anger—and going out in a blaze of what he imagined to be glory.” No musical artist—not Jay Z, Eminem, or Kanye West—has captured the attention of the public quite like Tupac, who played both villain and hero with a certain tattooed aplomb. Even now, he is your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper (see: Kendrick Lamar). So it is understandable, maybe even expected, that fans believe Tupac, arguably the biggest cultural and artistic force of the last 25 years, is still alive. Not even bullets could stop this larger-than-life man.
So, my theory: Overwhelmed by fame and seeking “happiness again” (as he yearned for on “So Many Tears”), Tupac faked his death and fled to Cuba to stay with his aunt, Assata. Free from the reach of American media and 90’s rap beef, Tupac knew he’d be safe and go mostly undetected in the one place the US government wanted nothing to do with. As the rapper began to re-emerge last year—anticipating Obama’s move to open diplomatic channels to Cuba before the end of his presidency—Tupac put monetary safeguards in place. After 18 years away, the rapper’s funds were nearly depleted, so he sold audio rights to Interscope (the label that released Lamar’s album) and Coca-Cola (the company that owns Powerade) to ensure his financial survival. It all makes perfect sense, really.
As more details have emerged in the last decade, fans and conspiracy theorists have scrutinized September 7, 1996 and the series of events surrounding the shooting with greater resolve. Maybe celebrity really was too much to bear, many have speculated, and Tupac faked his death (In a 2012 radio interview, Knight suggested that Tupac was still alive. “Nobody seen Tupac dead,” he said). Maybe the police are covering up some bigger truth none of us can handle. Or maybe it was Knight who masterminded the attack, hoping to profit from the rapper’s passing. Whatever the answer, one certainty persists: the night’s events did not happen as we’ve long been told.

Comedy Talents Abound In Ghana- DKB

Anytime comedy in Ghana comes up for discussion on any platform, the perception that is created in the minds of people is that Nigeria has so much Comedy talents than that of Ghana. According to such people, Ghana does not really have Comedy talents who can match up to their Nigerian counterparts but the King of Ghana Comedy, Derrick Kobina Bonney a.k.a DKB  has expressed his discomfort and disapproval with respect to that misconception.
Contrary to the misconception created in the public domain, the King of Ghana Comedy, DKB has mentioned that so many comedy talents abound in the country and apart from him being a classic example, there are other talented comedians in the country such as Khemical, Foster, James Brown, Hafco, David Oscar and many more. He made this known to your evergreen and authoritative Flex Newspaper in an exclusive interview.
According to him, comedy made in Nigeria and that which is made in Ghana are not very different but was quick to add that the main reason why Nigeria is seen to be ahead of Ghana in terms of comedy is due to the fact that Nigeria started and developed their comedy much earlier before Ghana set out to concentrate and develop comedy as part of their entertainment industry.
Apart from the fact that Ghana has so many comedy talents, DKB noted that the best approach to ensure that comedy develops to an appreciable height in the entertainment industry is through the nurturing of comedy talents. With the nurturing of comedy talents, DKB revealed that the right thing to do is consistent rehearsals on the part of the comedy talents as well as appraisals of their performances on any platform.
When asked if he has any other job apart from comedy that he does, DKB did not give a direct response but noted that he would do comedy for his entire life adding that every facet of life on this earth has its funny side.

Italian –Ghanaian singer, Romeo Kwame Yeboah is out with a song entitled “Odo Tumi” produced by B More and had its first time air play on AM PLUZZ. On this song he fused Twi and English to elaborate what the power of love can do.
In an interview with AM PLUZZ on Pluzz FM, he said that he does Rhythms and Blues (RnB) and a bit of highlife.
He said this is not his first time he’s doing a song and that he has actually done a sound track for a movie before.  “Music has been my passion for a very long time but I was not getting the ample time to pursue it and I think this is the time to show the world what I have got,” he said.
Romeo said he did not learn the Twi language from any academic institution but from friends he interacted with on daily basis and also read Twi books. Romeo has been in Ghana for seven years.
His Italian name is Gyanuka Romeo but has adopted Romeo Kwame Yeboah as his Ghanaian name. He just loves Ghana and decided to stay after a few visits to the country. He is in full time entertainment now, doing music and movies as well, and so far he has done ten movies.
He said over the years that he has been in Ghana he has adjusted himself to the lifestyle of the people and so he prefers Ghana to Italy so much that he has gotten married to a Ghanaian woman because they are humble compared to his folks.
Romeo says that in his music career, he will fuse his Italian language and Twi and serve us with the best of music and believes with this, he will penetrate the local and international market as well.

Where is Funny Face? Kwame Dadzie Is asking!!!

Ghanaians have a certain illness. I don’t know how it is called but I can describe it and explain it to you.
Most of our ‘showbizers’ retire too early in their fields. “Where is Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng aka Funny Face Benson, the Ghanaian comedian?” People keep asking me this question and I tell them to go find him.
Few years ago, Funny Face was all over the place playing gigs, featuring in TV series, commercials and emceeing a lot of programmes. Like or hate him he has been one of Ghana’s finest comedians. His name will forever be in the annals of comedy in Ghana.
However, we hardly hear him MC shows or perform at programmes of late. He can only be found on UTV’s Cow and Chicken TV series, whose popularity is quite below TV3’s Chorkor Trotro which catapulted him to fame.
Of late DKB has been all over playing all the big gigs and I am happy for him. I personally know how people like DKB have suffered in the comedy trade before God has finally placed him where he is. He and his friends have suffered ridicule, humiliation and mockery from a section of Ghanaians who had the erroneous perception that Ghanaian comedy was of low standard.
Honestly, some of the constructive criticisms that were directed at DKB and cronies goaded them on to also work harder to prove their critics and ‘enemies’ wrong. The situation is better than yesterday and DKB, without a scintilla of doubt has been phenomenal.
Some say he has dislodged Funny Face but I am not sure DKB caused that. In fact, in as much as I am happy that DKB is making it big, I am unhappy about the fact that he’s more or less the lone ranger now. It is a harbinger for bleak future for us. To me, the rate at which we quickly consign our stars to the back when we get new ones is very bad. Of course, there are times when something new comes up and it catches people’s attention the more but we must allow the quite older ones to stay in the system together with the new ones for a much longer time.
I would have loved that Funny Face was as vibrant and relevant as he was few years ago; so that we have more comedians. If it doesn’t happen like that, we will always shorten the life span of the comedy careers of our comedians.
If we continue using only one hit comedy act because they are the reigning champions, we get bored of them easily in no time, and later we say they are not talented or have lost their steam.
Let us learn to keep and respect old talents as new ones join the fray. When we do that, we would have a wide variety of acts to choose from and that even promotes competition among the comedians. The moment we make it look like there is only one comedian in town, it breeds complacency and that may kill them before they fully mature.
I am one person who has a wild sense of humour but you must be smart to make me laugh. DKB for the past few years has been up to the task, making sure he nails every show he performs at. Last Saturday at the RTP Awards at the Accra International Conference Centre, he really made me laugh my heart, lungs, liver and intestines out.
However, my fear is that if we don’t fine – tune our system, he will soon be forgotten just as Funny Face has been consigned to oblivion.
Many have posited that Funny Face’s comedy talent has atrophied now and that could be the reason he is virtually missing from the system. The same people that not long ago heralded him and would even carry him on their head like he was a king, are now saying the dude is no longer funny. I am very concerned about Ghanaian comedy that is why I keep proffering ways we could better this fine industry of ours. Frantic efforts have been made by most of the young guys plying this trade and by God’s grace they are making it. But don’t raise them up, hail them and shove them off within a short period.
It will be nice to have the likes of DKB, Baba Spirit, Foster Romanus, Kaybos, Khemikal, Bismark the Joke, Hogan, Aglah and the like all being featured prominently in all spheres of the arts and entertainment industry so that our fight of growing the comedy industry doesn’t be in vain. To those who keep asking the whereabouts of Funny Face, he has a series called Cow and Chicken that runs on UTV. It features Bismark the Joke and other actors.
Yes, he’s on screen but he’s not as popular as he was sometime ago. There may be a blizzard of factors for his lull in the comedy circles but the major of these factors is that ‘certain illness’ I introduced in my preamble and discussed in this discourse.
Ghanaians like killing talents even before they fully mature. Let’s stop that!

Sarkodie Spoils Ofori Amponsah’s ‘Alewa’

It is against Christian doctrines and virtues to get pregnant before getting married but Sarkodie in Ofori Amponsah’s latest ‘Alewa’ song actually said that: “Lemme hit you with it (have sex with you). Even if your family doesn’t agree to the marriage, I have already impregnated you.”
As a Man of God who has founded a church with a congregation, he needs not preach that. He needed not allow Sarkodie to say that on the song. Would Ofori on any day advise his church members to impregnate their girlfriends before they are married? And he called this HIGHER LOVE music – music meant to repair relationships? This can’t be true.
Before you conclude that I am judging Ofori, let me tell you that he has made it possible for us to talk about him. I never pushed Ofori to come say he had been called by God. I am not the one who told God to tell him to go back to secular music. Yes, I didn’t advise him to lie.
For crying out loud, nobody chastised Ofori when he did his Otoolege, Cinderella, Odwo and co because we knew that was what he wanted to do and he had been very successful in doing it. Most of his songs were very clean. So you see, the argument is not about we hating or judging him for doing secular music.
My problem is he using the name of God to cover up his u – turn. I pity his church members who got into Christianity because he had turned his back to the ‘world’ – the place he left for the church because he thought was evil. We are not saying secular music is evil. It was Ofori who told us that the secular music world put him into a lot of sinful acts. This is the same place he wants to go back to, to do the same sinful things he once did.
I don’t care about he going back to secular music but I hate the mere fact that he is using the word of God to back what he’s doing. If Ofori Amponsah tells us that God calls people into ministry for different purposes and that God wants to use him to sing LOVE songs to bless marriages and relationships, then I think dude is a fat liar.
Was he not doing songs similar to ‘Alewa’ before he came to tell the world that God had called him and that He wanted him to sing Gospel? Didn’t God know that the songs he sang in his Otoolege days could repair marriages and relationships before He asked him to sing gospel? Massa, leave God out of this before He gets angry with you.
In fact, I also listened to him on Kwasi Aboagye’s Entertainment Review and I was more convinced that he was confused. If someone is called by God, they stay true to the purpose for which he has been called. This was the same person who came to tell us that he nearly died while he did secular music. He did a lot of evil things and that once God had called him, he was never going back to the secular world – the things that took him away from God.
Should I believe this same person, if today he comes back to tell us that he has been directed by God to go back to secular music? No way!
The Christian God I know doesn’t work this way. He is not a walking contradiction. That is why I am peeved that Ofori Amponsah is attributing what he’s doing to the Christian God. I have said before, and I will keep saying it. I think there is somebody confusing Ofori Amponsah. It is a human being and not any spiritual force. I would not be surprised if his manager Frank Agyekum is behind all this. I am not saying he is – I am just presuming he could be.
Why did he not come on board to manage Ofori when he came out with the gospel songs? Why did he quickly resurface at this time that Ofori is coming back to secular music? The ‘god’ that called him will be sad by now because of his inconsistencies except if that ‘god’ is also a fake one of inconsistencies and contradictions.
Until he gets another calling to be a Buddhaist or fetish priest, I want to tell him to ponder over what Lord Kenya told him on Peace FM last Saturday.

How Praye Tintin and Tiatia reunited

Praye Tintin a member of Praye has come out to say the separation of the group had no effect on him but rather strengthened him.

In an interview with Dr. Cann on Showbiz Xtra of Happy 98.9FM, Tintin said; “Over the weekend we went to Koftown to perform to confirm Praye is really back and it’s the fans that are putting us together. They kept calling for it and we are back together. We are going to work as a group.

“Praye was three but Honeho is working with a six year deal with another company and we can’t hold on till he is done and so Tiatia and I are keeping the fire burning.

“The reception was good and proofed the fans made the group because the crowd was very excited till we left the stage.”

“I wouldn’t say it affected me that much, but it’s the fans that didn’t get what the group had always offered. What I can say is that it strengthened us and enlightened us more because back in the day we wrote small parts but after the break up we wrote full songs and so our upcoming songs will be fireworks.

“The breakup had a whole lot of effect on me because it made me realize I could sing and rap because with the group I was always rapping. It had an effect on me but it built me up.

Tintin touching on his silence when the group split said he didn’t want to sound repetitive.

“I was recording and needed time to prepare. I was taking time out to bring fresher ideas because after the split it was easy to sound and write like I was still with the group. I took time out just to refresh my content and delivery that’s why you didn’t hear so much music from me.”

Tintin revealed there was no leader in the group.

“There were people who loved the whole unit and there were others who loved the members of the group individually. When I left the group, Choirmaster was still with Cartel Big J but you can tell me it didn’t work that much. That showed that there wasn’t a leader in the group.

On how the two got back to perform in Koforidua and why he didn’t attend Tiatia’s grand wedding, Tintin revealed;

“After he married, he called me and we spoke a lot and we also spoke to our old management and all that. I couldn’t attend because we weren’t certain about the comeback so we thought business wise it was good and the fans will love it and that’s why we did it.”

I see myself as a preacher - King Ayisoba

Traditional musician King Ayisoba talking to CNN revealed that, judging by the genre of music he does and its content, he sees himself as someone who preaches.

“I see myself […] as a preacher. I talk with life stories, what happened, what people forget… I have to say it.”

Popular music has always provided the score for daily life. There is music to cover falling in love, heartbreak and every other emotion in between.

Music has also always been a vehicle for social commentary. Ghana’s musical reputation was built on Highlife, a melodic genre of music that began to spread across west Africa in the 1930s and provided commentary on the age.

Today the culture persists even though the sound has changed. From Boko Haram to gender inequality and corrupt leaders, Ghana’s biggest musicians aren’t just making beats, they are scoring intellectual points. If you’ve been looking for music that puts the world to rights, look no further than these gems.

FOKN Bois: Wanlov: “For us [FOKN Bois] is freedom. It’s freedom to say the darkest things we feel like saying and making fun of.”

Mensa: “We’re really just taking the moment and having fun, but yeah, I guess there is always something underneath.”

Jojo Abot: “A woman’s right is to choose. This EP acknowledges the burdens and expectations placed on us culturally and traditionally but to an even greater extent, it acknowledges our right as women to choose and to seek happiness in every aspect of our lives.”

Bishop Obinim freed in alleged assault case on journalist

The Head Pastor of the International Godsway Ministries, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has been acquitted and discharged by an Accra High Court for allegedly assaulting a radio panelist at Hot FM, an Accra-based radio station in 2011.

According to the ruling by presiding judge Justice Abdulai Iddrisu, the prosecution failed to provide credible evidence to back the charges against the accused, as the witnesses contradicted themselves in court.

The judge further stated that the prosecution failed to call relevant witnesses who could have given more credible evidence in the case.

Bishop Obinim and his accomplices, who were offended by a discussion where he was accused of allegedly having sex with the wife of Pastor Williams Fobi, a junior pastor of his church, was accused of going to the Adabraka-based radio station with a crowbar and sticks to damage their property.

According to the prosecution, they attacked the staff and vandalized studio equipment, and inflicted injuries on the host and other panelists including Rev. William Amoako-Atta.

Shadrach Adu, a victim who managed to escape, reported the issue to the Adabraka Police, after which the accused persons were arrested.

Female fan tattoos Jupitar's face on her waist

Tattoo as a fashion trend in the World is on the rise as people, day in day out ink themselves with Artworks, Bible Scriptures or even Family Names.

Music Lovers/Fans ain’t no exception. Over the years, Ghanaians saw pictures of die hard fans going to the extreme to tattoo their favorite Artiste’s name on their bodies.

Same story first hit Ghana Music when a picture of a female fan that tattooed Rapper Sarkodie’s name at the Upper part of her breasts came out, another lady also doing that of Shatta Wale’s “Shatta Movement” at her back all in 2014.

The story didn’t end there as early 2015 yet saw another picture of a die hard female fan who Beautifully tattooed Jupitar’s ETF at her back with the inscription, “ETF take Over”.

Just Yesterday, an image of a hardcore female fan of Jupiter who tattooed jupiter’s face on her Waist-hip surfaced on social media.

The “Enemies” Hit maker Posted the Pic On his Facebook timeline and captioned it; “Not a fan of Tattoos, but this one really means a lot me #realfan #ETF”

Kaakie to release new single 'Million Dollar'

The award winning female Dancehall artist Kaakie broke her long silence with a monster hit song titled: 'Give it to me' produced by JMJ.

Within the same month, the Xtra Large music signed female dancehall diva Kaakie returns with a new single "Million Dollar'.

The first single from Kaakie this year 'Give It to me' brought a different aggressive explicit side of her, it was something fans had not seen before and it drew them closer to the artist more.

In the new single ' Million Dollar', she proves why she is the million dollar card the music industry needs. Kaakie proves her control over the dancehall genre with a good delivery on diction on the new banger. "Million Dollar' is what sets her above the rest confirming her as the queen diva she is in dancehall music.

Kaakie's new single is written on love and the importance of a Smile; the song talks about her promise to his love which is the fact that every man wants her hot body (which is actually true) does not mean She wants them.

The love themed song will be out soon and we are very optimistic of it taking over like all her hit songs.

Her label Xtra Large music are coming with an uncontrolled force and hit songs. We can confirm that after Kaakie's new single, it would be followed up with a new single from all the label artists.

The likes of Kaakie, Virgo, Klem and JMJ will be on one hot banging song hence fans of Xtra large music should prepare for a continuous back to back hit songs to be released from the camp.

We doing the official countdown to the second single from the Dancehall diva Kaakie titled: 'Million Dollar' and the truth is the anticipation is huge.

I Knew 'Mansa' Will Be A Hit - Bisa Kdei

High Life artiste, Bisa K’dei has said he is not surprised that his latest song Mansa has become an instant hit and is enjoying massive air play.

According to a Flex Newspaper report, the song should have been released in May this year but due to certain technicalities, the song was rather released in July.

“When I programmed the instrumentals of the song, I had an inner conviction that the song would be a hit. I said to myself that this song is going to put Ghana on a different level so I kept thinking of whom to give the song to for mastering.

“I sent the song to Kaywa for mastering and he blessed and assured me that the song would make it on the music scene. I have a long term relationship with Kaywa but for once, it was very refreshing to hear him endorse Mansa as the true meaning of highlife,” he said.

Bisa whose real name is Ronald Kweku Dei Appiah, started his music career as a rapper in a group called BISA (Boys In Serious Action). He later decided to embark on a solo project when he found out he could do better in singing.

Movie producer Afra Marley who spotted the talent in Bisa introduced him to his other colleague and that was how Bisa’s success story began.

Bisa has done sound tracks for movie producers such as A.A Productions, Paul Gee, Miracle Films and Pat Thomas. However, it was the movie, Azonto Ghost, that brought him into the limelight.

I’m Yet to Find The Right Man to Marry… Genevieve Nnaji

Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, after a long hiatus from the industry recently surprised her teaming fans when she released her own movie titled ‘Road to Yesterday,’ which has gotten many giving her a standing ovation for her bold step in joining the evolving movie production market.
Making a name for herself, smiling to the bank through her various endorsement deals, the actress is indeed a diva to behold who seems complete but without a man in her life yet.
Definitely not in any rush to settle down, the actress believes that at the right time when she has set her mind to be with the man of her dreams, she will sure get the right man who will love her from the heart.

How I Sprained My Ankle On My Wedding Day---Ime Bishop

No doubt, comic Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop, is still celebrating his marriage of two years. Not too long ago, the union of the actor clocked two and he is still basking in the euphoria.
Bishop, in his recent message to mark the day, explained how he sprained his ankle on his wedding day.
The actor and his wife, Idara, exchanged marital vows about two years ago and today, the union has produced a lovely daughter christened Juanita.
Bishop narrated that, “My journey to having a family as beautiful as this started. I can remember the whole scenario: my spraining my ankle while rushing to church, my arriving in church to see my wife’s teary nervous eyes, the whole drama (laughs).
"I thank God for everything and making for me a formidable team to take on the world. Now I increase on every side.”

Madness in the name of fashion

Growing up in a Muslim dominated community of Malshegu a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis in the late 80s, it was rare to see young ladies show off their “vital” parts which is supposed to be a preserve of their prospective husbands.

Your appearance in those days and I believe to date was a manifestation of your upbringing and the credit was given to your parents for not shirking their parental responsibility by ensuring that you are decent both at home and outside. Questions like are you Mr. so so and so’s daughter were frequently asked and all praises were showered on them for a good upbringing of their child.

Looking at “secret” parts was a taboo that deserved punishment by public flogging or being denied food for days which I became a victim of for two consecutive times after which I opted to join the priesthood a dream that has not been achieved

Ladies nurtured within this setting, till date are well regarded among their peers as you can always see them neatly dressed with the popular “Kaba and sleet” during festive occasions and nice straight dresses made of African Fabric. Most of these women have bequeathed the decent upbringing from their parents to their kids to ensure the generation of disciplined appearance is continued.

Some of them as time slipped by have been consumed by fashion which I will prefer to call foreign madness which is gradually taking away the African discipline in the way of appearance.

You might never have had the embarrassing experience of unintentionally looking at a lady’s exposed buttocks as she tries to get out of a vehicle. I have. I have also observed with pity and disdain the way most girls, ladies and even some married women dress nowadays. All over the place, you see ladies dressed in clothes that left bare the greater parts of their bodies. Parts of the woman’s body which hitherto, are considered sacred and are thus covered such as breasts, buttocks and thighs are displayed as if they are for sale.

It is not uncommon to see some ladies in dresses that left bare the whole of their backs and bellies; the ones they call in the Ghanaian parlance ‘I’m aware’. It hurts even more to see some of them in such dresses on the TV either preaching morality through the singing of gospel songs or hosting shows meant to educate the public. Movie actresses and secular musicians would not spare us that nudity either. At other times, it is rather annoying when you see them in such dresses sashaying on the street heading for the church, presumably going to worship God. You can’t help praying to God for mercy!

Miniskirts have been around a long time ago. But now, low-rise jeans trousers are the in-thing. Only problem: this type of jeans trousers is intended to sit on the hips, below the waistline and therefore has the tendency of exposing the buttocks and its cleavage especially when the wearer is sitting or bending down. But our ladies love them! So, waist beads and underwear, especially g-strings are now a usual sight to behold anytime a lady is in these low-rise jeans trousers. And because they put on blouses that are not long enough to alleviate the damage being caused by the low-rise jeans; and also do not usually even put on any underwear, their buttocks and their cleavages are glaringly exposed especially when they are sitting, getting out of vehicles or picking up an item on the floor. Wow!

Low-cut blouses, with necklines so low that they expose the breast and its cleavage are part of the order of the day; another 21st century fashion! And so, as you walk the streets, expect to see as many exposed breasts and their cleavages as you wish; they are definitely going to come your way! Those are our would-be-mothers (or even mothers); people who would be expected to nurture young ones into responsible adults in future!

The situation gets worse during night entertainment events where you see our women dress to crucify. On such occasions you will question yourself if we are on our way to bury “Lucifer” considering the “outlooks and inlooks”

If you dare ask why they now dress in such irresponsible and rather immoral ways, you would be told “Wobe hwea hwe; wonhwe so a yi wani” (read: “If you will look, look; if you will not look, look somewhere else”). If you are spared that uncouthness, you are sure to be lectured about ‘civilisation’: the basis of it all! And of course coupled with the support of a constitutional right –freedom of dressing! And so, ladies no more see anything wrong with walking the streets almost in the nude. Just a few days ago, one of these university girls told me they would soon walk the streets in just g-strings and brassieres. I believed her. Why not? I have already seen girls doing that in some western movies. And since they copy their bad dress standards from such sources, I know they would really do it soon if they have not started already.

Freedom of dressing is a constitutional right. But I think it would be wise for our ladies to realise that the bad dress standards they are adopting are not only a form of sexual harassment to men and boys but also a major cause of the many rape cases that are reported every year all over the world. Such dress standards are also a cause of sexual harassment directed at them usually at their work places. That does not end the story; in such outfits, they portray themselves as sex objects. What else does nudity connote if not sex? It is therefore not surprising that most men nowadays perceive them as sex objects. And they would always accuse men of perceiving them as such! Even though such mode of dressing is destroying the sitting and walking posture of most of them, ignorance (or rather ‘civilization’) continues to lure them into it. Ignorance is really bliss! I would not talk about the religious side of this whole menace.

Since no one would tell me those are the only types of clothes in the shops these days, I always wonder what they hope to achieve by dressing in such manners: probably to entice men? Or just to show the world what they have got? Whatever it is, it is most unfortunate that as we try to fight crimes such as rape and sexual harassment in our society, some of our women and ladies have decided to compound the problem by adopting such dress standards which are totally degrading and an insult to womanhood.

Religious organizations: churches and mosques must continuously caution their ladies to dress decently.
Civil society groups must put up campaigns aimed at preaching the message of decent dress standards among ladies and women. Parents must monitor and regulate the dress standards of their daughters. Educational institutions, especially the tertiary institutions must come up with rules that regulate the dress code of their students. We cannot look on unconcerned whilst this canker labeled as fashion continues to eat deep into our way of life. All that said, it is the duty of all of us to support this humble call for decency in the mode of dressing of our ladies. Unless this is done, we may wake up one day just to see our women, mothers for that matter, walking the streets in just g-strings and brassieres as my university friend predicted. And they would of course count that also among their freedoms – that of dressing!

Singer Blasts Gospel Artists Competing Shatta Wale And Sarkodie.

Nicholas Omane Acheampong in an interview with Happy FM’s Dr Cann said gospel artists should stay away from secular artists.
“If you observe carefully, after two or three albums, some musicians slow down or are nowhere to be found. It’s just a few artists that get to the legendary status. As an artist, if you know the secret to your craft you will be around for a long time. If you want to do God’s work, the fundamental aspect is to be spiritual. If you are a gospel artist and you are competing with Shatta Wale in terms of who has more money…..”
"If you are an artists and you follow the entertainment industry who always want to brand you for you to make money, you will make money but the end is the problem.” The Aposor singer continued; “Every occupation has its path, so if you are into ministering don’t go associate with people who sing to whet people’s appetite or alcohol and fornication to be the same.
"Because the ministering is not for your own sake, Shatta Wale and Sarkodie sing their songs or themselves but Gospel artists work for God. The Alewa Ofori Amponsah brought is for his own sake.”

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah known in music circles as Shatta Wale has ranked Samini as hottest dancehall artiste in Ghana.
